READING 2009!! :D

Wed Sep 2, 2009, 11:37 AM
  • Mood: Tired
  • Listening to: Faith No More / System of a Down
  • Reading: Great Expectations
  • Watching: Reaper / Futurama
  • Playing: FF III / Mario Vs. Donkey Kong: Minis March Again
  • Eating: Wheat Crunchies / Monster Munch
  • Drinking: Water
So yeah! I'm back, came back on Monday afternoon, from the lovely rock festival that is Reading, and I;ve already bought my ticket for next years one, doh! lol.

So yeah might as well list all the bands I saw so I can tally them up and work out if it was worth the money, lol, here goes...

Friday

Sonic Boom Six
The Ghost of a Thousand
Flatliners
Holly Walsh
Tim Minchin
Streetlight Manifesto
Deftones
Kaiser Cheifs (don't ask me why)
FAITH NO MORE :D

Saturday

Eagles Of Death Metal
THEM CROOKED VULTURES :D
Mad Caddies
The Bronx
The Prodigy
Silent Disco (not technically a band but great nontheless)

Sunday

Gallows
AFI
Lostprophets

(yeah, I kinda wasted the sunday sleeping, which was good as I got no sleep that night, lol)

-----------------------------

So yeah, I had a fun time and it works out at around 11 quid an act which is perfect, i'd have paid fifty quid to see Faith No More alone, unquestionably the best band of the weekend, so much fun. :D
Streetlight Manifesto were on good form like always and had everyone bouncing much like the Mad Caddies who were equally good. Sonic Boom Six were a slight dissapointment cos they really shouldn't have played Main Stage, it doesn't suit them, a smaller venue would have been better methinks, still fun though.

The rioting on Sunday night was a little scarier this year but nothing bad happened near us which was good. All in all a grand weekend and I can't wait for next year, praying for a better lineup of Headliners though

I Wish I Saw...

Matt Reed
Hugh Lennon And Hypno Dog (twice in a row I've missed this guy, damn)
Bouncing Souls
Anti Flag
New Found Glory (whoops)
Snuff
Rise Against
Mariachi El Bronx (I blame the BHS Breakfast for stalling me)
Maximo Park
Lethal Bizzle
Frank Turner
Rumble Strips
Brand New (damn you lazyness!)

I dunno, I reckon staying at home is ok. I think it's insanely brave to go abroad to study, lol. I don't think I could do it. Moving to Liverpool from Bristol was a big enough leap for me. I did live in halls with some international students last year, one was from the Netherlands and the others Latvia and they were all really great. It seems like a fun adventure.
Here it's cold and crappy and also with bad traffic, lol. If that makes you feel better =P

I just checked out the comment I made, eww I spelt Vanished as 'Vainished' nasty! lol

I myself have sort of vanished into the university scene as well, but I've still maintained a slight viewers presence on here, and contributed hardly anthing, lol. I think the only stuff I've done has been during this holiday, so I can guarantee I'll produce nothing else until maybe Christmas time now, as my summer holiday is almost over. :(

Nice to know you're alive and well :D
